VIA WASHINGTON (CNN) — Seven people were killed in a rush-hour collision between two Metro trains in Washington on Monday, D.C. Mayor Adrian Fenty said Tuesday.

Lights illuminate the wreckage as rescuers continue to work at the Metro crash site.
Fenty said 76 people were taken to hospitals, including two who were in critical condition. Their conditions remained stable overnight, he said at a news conference. The condition of another critical patient was upgraded.

Two of the injured were emergency responders, said Washington Fire Chief Dennis Ruben.
Another news conference is scheduled for 5 p.m. ET, Fenty said. By that time, the trains will have been taken apart, and “hopefully, there won’t be any more” deaths discovered, he said.

P.A.T.~I don’t know about you all but this makes me VERY UPSET. We talk about how we have the state-of-the-art technology etc. but accidents still occur. In this accident there was obvious miscommunication about which train was going which way! I know that there is someone who specidic job is to prevent accidents such as this…EPIC FAIL…hopefully the families will be taken care of…

I know im not the only one PISSED…what do ya’ll think?
