Giselle on the cover of Elle magazine

ENOUGH!!!  It is almost 2010 and to this day every time I buy a High-Fashion magazine like Vogue, Marie Claire, Cosmo, or Elle I never see any models/actresses that look like me… that have my skin complexion. Is the Fashion Industry racist? Why aren’t there more women of color on the cover of this magazine? Are we not beautiful to you?

This demonstration is very small but it will kick-off our campaign to remove these magazines out of business unless a change is made.  The petition is a promise that we will not buy any more high-fashion magazines until we begin to see more women of color (African, Asian, Indian, Black, and more) on their covers!

*We deserve to have positive representations of Women of Color on the cover of high-fashion magazines, so that our little girls of color can see women that look like them and will see that beauty comes in all shapes, colors, and sizes!!!*
